How does HomeShare Online choose my matches?
HomeShare Online does not hand-select your matches. We use technology to compare your preferences to the preferences of HomeShare Online users in your area and assign a score to your potential compatibility. We’ll show you a spectrum of matches, including those who don’t fit your preferences exactly—we’ve learned over time that HomeShare Online users prefer to have the option to review all their matches and determine compatibility for themselves.
What’s a ShareScore?
For each one of your HomeShare Online matches, you will see a ShareScore™.
Your ShareScore is a number (up to 100) that tells you how well your homesharing preferences align with those of your matches. The ShareScore is one of several tools HomeShare Online provides to help you find a compatible housemate and can be a good indicator of compatibility, but remember: you have the final say about who you live with. How do I sort and filter my matches?
To see the users who fit your preferences most closely, sort your matches by ShareScore as follows:
- Log in to HomeShare Online and click Browse homeseekers to view your matches.
- Click Sort by in the upper-right corner of your screen.
- In the dropdown menu that appears, click % ShareScore.
- Your matches will sort from highest ShareScore to lowest.
Why aren't there more homeseekers/listings in my area?
Some locations are more popular than others for homesharing on HomeShare Online. If you’re wondering why there aren’t more homeseekers or listings in your area, it’s possible that you’re searching in a place that is still growing in popularity. New HomeShare Online users sign up every day, so it’s a good idea to check back periodically for new homeseekers/listings in your area.
